New Land Light Infantry Musket (686 B)

This design was approved in 1803, but was not produced until 1810. A notched rear sight was brazed to the barrel though it still used the bayonet lug as the front sight, a pistol grip trigger guard was also added to this weapon. The barrel was shorted to 39" as compared to the British New Land Musket above. The lock plate measures 6 7/8" x 1 1/4". The throw of the cock is 1 3/4".
