Light Infantry Fusil (593)
According to DeWitt Bailey the first Light Infantry Fusil was Lord Loudouns 1745 pattern. These fusils used a very unique pattern of furniture. Basically these are a smaller, light weight version of the full size musket. The one we reproduced here is the latter version with the 1756 pattern lock. It has a 42" tapered round barrel, in .62 or .66 caliber. It was set up for a wooden rammer. These are very slim weapons and handle more like fowling pieces than military guns. The lock plate measures 6" x 1 1/6". The throw of the cock is 1 5/8".
