1844 Kammerbuchse (801)
These rifles originally had chamber breeches that stopped the ball from touching the powder. They had a 33 1/4" tapered, octagon to round rifled barrel in .69 caliber. Many of these with the new Augustin lock were imported by the South. Some were converted to percussion by adding a new breech and hammer and some simply by adding a drum and a nipple, while keeping the original hammer. They have a really nice four leaf rear sight. Over 6000 of these were sent to America in the early 1860’s.
