This is from a later rifle by Paul Poser with a more conventional style stock with a sliding wood patchbox. A nice large deeply chisled shield inlay in the patchbox cover. The main difference between the P. Poser Jager (653) and Poser Jager (657) rifles is the plainer thimbles and chisled side plate. The thimbles and side plates are interchangeable from the Series (653) on this stock pattern. This allows you to put the fancier thimbles and side plate on this pattern if you desire. This was a very knowledgable experience for us to have both guns at the same time for comparison. The butt plate tangs were both a perfect drop in fit in either gun, which is amazing because all long tang brass Jager butt plates, including this one, are made in two pieces and brazed together. Paul Poser worked in Prague. This Series (657) is from the Ron Scott Collection. We offer the lock with or without engraving so be sure to specify which one you want when ordering the lock. We also offer the locks assembled. The lock plate measures 5 11/16" x 1 1/16". The throw of the cock is 1 5/8".

Many of the pictures shown on this web site are of original pieces. We do not sell any original pieces on this web site only reproduction's of the original parts we have copied.
