This musket is early to middle 1700’s period. The large Miquelet lock has the wide grooved face. The miquelet locks were considered far stronger than the French style locks by the Spanish and on the catalan style guns you will find them used all the way into the percussion period. The 40" octagon to round barrel is in .69 caliber. The lock plate measures 5 1/2" x 1 5/8". The throw of the cock is 2 1/8".
