Richard Colten made the patterns for this lock. It is copied from an original that was found at an archaeological Battle site dated 1675 in the New England Colonies of America. These were used during the English Civil War in Europe, all the way up into the French and Indian War in America. Very nice quality lock set. The vast majority of Snaphaunce were altered to this type as it was much simpler to make the pan cover and frizzen in one piece doing away with the push-rod and pan cover. These early fan tail stocks really hold nice. This lock set comes with a complete set of instructions. The lock plate measures 7.8" x 1.6". The cock throw is 1.9. The barrel is 46" Octagon to Round, in .75 or .77 caliber
