This set is available in either iron or brass mountings. We have recreated the stock pattern with the early full lock and tang carving in place, which did not start to disappear until the 1740’s. We have two lock markings available in this early single bridle lock, which are "1728 Tower" and "1724 Dublin Castle". The barrel is a 46" tapered round, available in .75 or .77 caliber. This pattern Brown Bess was made until the changes in 1742 and would have been the most common style during the French and Indian War, used all the way into the Revolutionary war. The lock plate measures 6 7/8" x 1 1/4". The cock throw is 1 15/16" All of our locks and parts are full size and can be used on original weapons. We also sell the 1728 Early Long Land Pattern Brown Bess or the 1724 Early Long Land Pattern Brown Bess as a kit which includes an assembled hardened and tempered lock, stock, barrel, ramrod, hardware parts and all the screws and pins necessary to build a 1724 or 1728 Early Long Land Pattern Brown Bess Musket. When ordering a kit please specify Brass or Iron hardware.

Due to the investment casting process which we use there are sometimes delays due to this process which in turn requires patience from our customers, the average delivery time on our parts is between 60 and 90 days, if the parts you order are not in stock. We assure you that the quality of our parts is well worth any wait, as many of the items we make have never been offered by anyone before. If you are serious about the authenticity of your weapon then the time will be a small price to pay. Many of the pictures shown on this web site are of original pieces. We do not sell any original pieces on this web site only reproduction's of the original parts we have copied. If the item description does not say assembled then you are buying the castings of that particular item.
